This is a print. It is a xylograph with collagraph of 4 plates; 3 wood plates and one Formica plate. Each plate is of one colour. The print depicts a scene from an artist’s studio where several pupils are drawing from a live model. It is very colourful and has the atmosphere of a studio. There is a lot of movement.
I started printing because I see it as a medium which allows me to always keep my work while sharing it with others again and again! I enjoy the discipline of printing and it has helped me to synthesize my work; again, the long process of making the plates doesn’t stop me seizing the instant.
