The Scottish harbour

This oil painting was inspired by a harbor town on the east coast of Scotland that I visited this summer. At the time and day there were no fishermen, therefore the figures are from my drawings and imagination.
In this work, I have captured the vibrant life of the port using oil paint to capture the movement and emotion of the fishermen on their daily journey. Inspired by expressionism, I seek to convey the strength and communal spirit of work at sea. The vivid shapes and colours reflect the energy and harsh beauty of maritime life, invoking a sense of community and perseverance that is sure to add a touch of inspiration and warmth to any home..
