This 2-dimensional sculpture is made of iron plate. The work consists of shapes cut from iron plate with a blowtorch and then soldered to form the figures. The sculpture depicts a group of young people walking along the beach; three girls and a boy playing a flute. This composition was inspired when I was on the beach in Ibiza where I always take a drawing block and pencil.
At the time that started working on iron plate sculptures, I was doing a series of oil paintings and prints of compositions of people. It occurred to me that I could also make 2 dimensional sculptures of these figures.
